about the "panic" module

crux-00004: $SRC/utils/README.panic

* Panic

  "panic" is part of a utility library for writing programs for
  the Crux system.

* The "panic" interface

  #include "utils/panic.h"

  extern void panic (char * msg);

  Write to file descriptor 2 ("standard error output") a message
  indicating that a fatal error has occured. If MSG is not null,
  it must point to a 0-terminated string. The contents of the
  string will also be written to descriptor 2.

  Errors while writing are ignored.

  The precise format of output is unspecified but output is
  meant to be read by people.

  This function then aborts the current process by calling the
  "_exit" function found in POSIX and C language standards:

	_exit (2);

  This function will not return.
