This is a revised version of a letter to City Council. The HAC voted to on May 3, 2018 to send the letter with the revisions made here. (Note, the Commission Chair gets the last chance to make changes and so the letter sent might differ slightly from this one.)

This is an item for the HAC's work plan. One of the assigned duties of the HAC is to prepare an annual or biannual report making various housing policy recommendations to City Council. This work item is a reminder that work will continue on improving the smoke free multi-unit housing ordinance.

This work plan item is to attempt to organize one or more workshops convening activists who are helping Berkeley form policy mechanisms for decommodifying and democratizing housing.

This is a work plan item to help the HAC coordinate with the Joint Subcommittee for Implementation of State Housing Law.

This is an item for the HAC's work plan. One of the assigned duties of the HAC is to review code enforcement practices and priorities and to make recommendations in relation. The HAC hasn't done so for years. Let's try to fix that.
